The following year Giambattista Crosato was appointed member of the Venetian Academia. He died on July 15, 1758, after six months of illness, at his home in San Marcuola in Venice.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-kyq4swlh-fa5935735f14ebf79ffbd766293b4daa\">\n#top .hr.hr-invisible.av-kyq4swlh-fa5935735f14ebf79ffbd766293b4daa{\nheight:30px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='hr av-kyq4swlh-fa5935735f14ebf79ffbd766293b4daa hr-invisible  avia-builder-el-6  el_after_av_textblock  el_before_av_textblock '><span class='hr-inner '><span class=\"hr-inner-style\"><\/span><\/span><\/div><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kyq45byo-ed9e4265578dfc6907f8ebd03121b896 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h3>Crosato at Ca\u2019 Marcello<\/h3>\n<p>In 1951 the Russian scholar Nicholas Ivanoff attributed the frescoes of Ca\u2019 Marcello to Giambattista Crosato. Later, other art historians confirmed this conclusion.<br \/>\nMade probably around 1753, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camarcello.it\/en\/main-house\/interiors\/fresco-paintings\/\">decoration of the ballroom<\/a> was commissioned by the Marquis Maruzzi, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camarcello.it\/en\/main-house\/family\/\">owners of the villa<\/a> at that time.<\/p>\n<p>With touches of light and color he was able to bring to life the stories of Alexander the Great and create a virtuosity that is one of the best examples of eighteenth-century European
